In the Carezza ski area in South Tyrol, a new link has been created between Nova Levante and the Passo di Costalunga in the shape of the GD10 “Franzin”. The 10-passenger gondola lift runs from the Hotel Moseralm to the Franzin Alm at 1,739 meters above sea
level, removing a previous visitor bottleneck. The ropeway cuts journey times and significantly improves access. It is also equipped with the latest LEITNER technology, including LeitPilot for automated station operation at the top station. This, combined with the gearless LEITNER DirectiDrive system, further reduces the system’s energy requirements and ensures particularly efficient, quiet and low-maintenance operations. The new gondola lift can transport up to 2,400 passengers per hour over its length of around 1.3 kilometers. It plays a significant role in easing the pressure on central transport hubs, while also supporting the Carezza ski area’s sustainable development efforts.
