HTI equips Narvik for the 2029 World Ski Championships

A strong overall package of ropeways, snowmaking, and snow grooming equipment for Norway's top winter sports event

For the 2029 Alpine World Ski Championships, the Norwegian venue Narvik is relying on the combined expertise of the HTI Group. With an investment volume of 53 million euros, HTI is supplying a comprehensive alpine infrastructure package consisting of state-of-the-art ropeway technology from LEITNER, high-performance snow groomers from PRINOTH and a fully automated snowmaking system from DEMACLENKO.

Highlights of the project:

  • Ropeway technology: One gondola lift, one chairlift and 3 surfacelifts from LEITNER will ensure safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient transport at the highest level.
  • Slope grooming: PRINOTH will supply 12 snow groomers and a digital snow management system, for perfect slope conditions.
  • Snowmaking: DEMACLENKO is installing around 100 snow guns, a pump station, a pressure boosting system, and a new reservoir.
  • Sustainability: All systems are digitally networked and designed for maximum efficiency and resource conservation.

A strong signal for the future

The contract was signed at the INTERALPIN trade fair in Innsbruck. Martin Leitner, Vice President of the HTI Group, emphasized:

“This project demonstrates the strength of our group and lays the foundation for an unforgettable World Ski Championships – and for a sustainable future for the Narvik ski resort.”
