Hanover was LEITNER’s third opportunity to turn a World Exhibition into a moving experience. Following the Expo ropeways built for Seville in 1992 and South Korea in 1993, LEITNER’s Expo gondola made its maiden journey at EXPO 2000 in Hanover. It fitted perfectly with the main theme of EXPO 2000 – “Man - Nature - Technology” – and was enthusiastically received by the 8,847,526 exhibition visitors. One of the two gondola lifts was routed from the north-west entrance to the Plaza, the focal point of EXPO, while the second came up from the south entrance to meet the other at the Plaza.
