An important ropeway modernization project was completed in the Aosta Valley, with LEITNER continuing its successful partnership with the Cervinia skiing area in the renowned Matterhorn Ski Paradise, one of the world’s largest ski resorts. The construction of the new detachable 6-seater chairlift “Lago Goillet” follows the completion of the highest Alpine crossing by ropeway, between Zermatt and Cervinia, via the two Matterhorn Glacier Ride 3S systems. The state-of-the-art ropeway features chairs wiith bubbles, individual footrests, seat heating, and premium upholstery to offer visitors the utmost comfort. Moving at a speed of 5 m/s and able to carry up to 2,400 passengers per hour, the new system will noticeably improve efficiency and provide even better access to the vast skiing area.
