When it comes to ropeway customization, LEITNER sets the standard

Customization is part of our standards

The new advertising campaign highlights the versatile design options of ropeway installations.

Customers demand tailor-made products and the ropeway industry is no exception. Precisely such customized products are among LEITNER ropeways’ greatest strengths. The company provides customers with a wide range of configurations to select from. This versatility is now the subject of the advertising campaign "Customization is part of our standards." The campaign highlights the unique adaptability of ropeways, which are flexible and configurable in terms of appearance, performance, choice of materials or equipment.

Individuality is the new ropeway standard

LEITNER ropeways’ customers demand individual design and flexibility. The company caters to these demand by offering a wide range of individually adaptable products.

The Premium Chair EVO, the unique Luxury Cabin Symphony 10, the Premium Cabin Diamond EVO and the various configurations of the LEITNER DirectDrive system all come in countless set-ups.

When it comes to dimensions, design and comfort, enjoy maximum freedom

The Premium Chair EVO alone boasts over 180 different configuration options, including customized selection of upholstery, colour scheme, design and footrest.                                                                    The modular designs of both the Symphony 10 Luxury Cabin and the Diamond EVO Cabin allow you to select the length, width and height that’s right for you. Moreover, the impressive flexibility of LEITNER products is not limited to the chairs and cabins: The DirectDrive system is also designed to meet a wide range of individual requirements.

Tailor-made ropeway technology for special conditions

The wide range of design options is especially advantageous for projects that involve unusual conditions. High Alpine terrain or sensitive natural areas require special solutions, as highlighted by examples from Zermatt, Bavaria and the Dolomites.

Zermatt: Highest safety and luxury cabins

“Operating a 3S gondola lift like the Matterhorn glacier ride on high alpine terrain at an altitude of more than 3,800 meters requires tailor-made solutions and a genuine feat of engineering,” explains Markus Hasler, CEO Zermatt Bergbahnen AG. “When we planned the project, we had three priorities: ensure that the ropeway would meet the highest possible safety standards, that it would be low-maintenance once installed, and that it would be highly energy-efficient. LEITNER’s DirectDrive and LeitControl control system both meet all these requirements.

"We also set high standards for transport quality and comfort," says Hasler. "Thanks to the 3S system, the spacious designer cabins with leather seats float almost silently up to the summit of the Klein Matterhorn mountain. Traveling in such comfort is a unique experience. If you’re lucky enough to be sitting in one of the Crystal Ride cabins, it feels like flying,” says Hasler with obvious enthusiasm. These special cabins are decorated with thousands upon thousands of Swarovski crystals. A glass floor allows guests to look down at the ground below.

Jennerbahn ropeway: Energy efficient and barrier-free

Due to natural environmental conditions, the Jennerbahn in Schönau am Königssee in Bavaria required a special configuration. “The new top station of the 10-passenger gondola lift Jennerbahn in Schönau am Königsee is located at the edge of the Berchtesgaden Alpine National Park. To protect the sensitive natural area of Berchtesgaden and treat it with respect, we needed a reliable ropeway partner that could implement a wide range of individual requirements, rather than just selling standard products,” explains Franz Moderegger, CEO Berchtesgadener Bergbahn AG.

“Thanks to the energy-efficient, barrier-free concept, smooth organization and fair conditions offered, the owners of Berchtesgadener Bergbahn AG decided to use LEITNER ropeways products for all new ropeway installations. Every day, our guests are impressed by the stunning, all-round views from the modern panorama cabins and the nearly silent ascent to the summit,” says Moderegger.

Funivie Arabba: Bold mountain ropeway projects

Arabba, a ski resort in the heart of the Italian Dolomites in the Livinallongo valley/Province of Belluno, has relied on the expertise of LEITNER ropeways for years: “Leitner is a reliable and strong partner willing to go to any lengths to tackle new challenges. They don’t shy away from courageous and unusual projects. In line with the spirit of our company and our motto, “THE place to ski,” we are working in close collaboration to ensure that Arabba is the most sought-after ski destination in the Dolomites,” explains Diego De Battista, CEO Impianti turistici Boe S.p.a/Funivie Arabba.
