As part of an extensive project to modernize its ropeway infrastructure, the operators of the French skiing area of Gourette have commissioned the construction of a state-of-the-art 10-passenger gondola lift. Gourette is located in the arrondissement of Oloron-Sainte- Marie on the sun-kissed slopes of the Col d’Aubisque and is surrounded by an impressive group of 2,500-meter peaks. The new GD10 “Cotch” has been constructed in place of an old 6-seater chairlift and, with a capacity of up to 2,000 passengers per hour, represents an improvement in terms of both comfort and efficiency. Equipped with low-maintenance LEITNER DirectDrive and bike transport equipment, the ropeway runs across six towers to the Snowk’fé restaurant at 1,610 meters above sea level.
